Baking Soda and Vinegar: In the Home and Garden

About Me

Baking Soda and Vinegar: In the Home and Garden

Like many of us, I like to keep a clean house. Cleaning my kitchen and bathroom sinks, counter tops and vanities once presented a challenge. How so? I refuse to use harsh chemicals, mainly because of my children's allergies and asthma. I also prefer an environmentally-friendly cleaning solution. I've found all this and more, by cleaning with a homemade paste I make from baking soda and vinegar. This all-natural cleaning solution removes most of my everyday stains and grime with ease. I just scour the surface with a scrubby-type sponge and it's a breeze. In addition to kitchen and bathroom surfaces, I use baking soda and vinegar cleaning paste on my parrot's cage. There are no harsh chemicals or fumes, so it's also perfect for cleaning the toddler's room. Try the same solution diluted with a bit of water to kill your garden weeds. You'll be amazed!

Seven Ways That Having An Elevator In Your Home Can Be Good For Your Family Members

If you're thinking about having an elevator installed in your home, you should be aware of all of the advantages that a home elevator can offer to your family members. The following are seven ways that having an elevator in your home can be good for your entire household.

Elevators can free up space in your home.

In general, an elevator takes up a lot less space than a staircase does. A staircase tends to take up a significant amount of space on both the ground floor and the upper floors of a home.

An elevator is generally a more compact way to get between different floors. This means that an elevator might be a perfect solution if you're looking for ways to add more space to your home's design.

Elevators can provide better mobility to family members.

Elevators are particularly helpful in homes with family members that are struggling with mobility issues. The elderly and those who have certain injuries may be unable to walk up and down a staircase. In this case, an elevator can make all floors of a home more easily accessible to family members.

Elevators can make it easier to move heavy items between floors.

An elevator comes in handy when you're moving a load of groceries or a heavy item such as a piece of furniture from one floor to another. It takes much less effort to get a heavy load into an elevator than it would to carry it up a flight of stairs.

Elevators can prevent injuries.

Staircases are one of the areas of a home where injuries are most likely to occur. It's easy for family members of all ages to become injured when going both up and down staircases. Elevators are safer and aren't likely to cause any injuries.

Elevators offer convenience.

It can be tiring and cumbersome to walk up and down the stairs of a home on a daily basis. An elevator makes moving around in a home more convenient and comfortable on a day-to-day basis.

Elevators give a home a high-tech look and feel.

An elevator can contribute to the look and style of a home. Elevators contribute a high-tech and luxurious feel to a home that can enhance the home's interior design.

Elevators can increase the resale value of a property.

If you have an elevator installed in your home, it's highly likely that the value of your home will go up in value. This means that you will receive more from the eventual sale of the property.
