Baking Soda and Vinegar: In the Home and Garden

About Me

Baking Soda and Vinegar: In the Home and Garden

Like many of us, I like to keep a clean house. Cleaning my kitchen and bathroom sinks, counter tops and vanities once presented a challenge. How so? I refuse to use harsh chemicals, mainly because of my children's allergies and asthma. I also prefer an environmentally-friendly cleaning solution. I've found all this and more, by cleaning with a homemade paste I make from baking soda and vinegar. This all-natural cleaning solution removes most of my everyday stains and grime with ease. I just scour the surface with a scrubby-type sponge and it's a breeze. In addition to kitchen and bathroom surfaces, I use baking soda and vinegar cleaning paste on my parrot's cage. There are no harsh chemicals or fumes, so it's also perfect for cleaning the toddler's room. Try the same solution diluted with a bit of water to kill your garden weeds. You'll be amazed!

Luxury Towel Gift Ideas

If you're looking for an impressive gift that won't break the bank, consider treating a friend or loved one to luxury towels. Look for high-quality towels that are made with a soft cotton blend.

Luxury towels make a thoughtful gift for a wide range of special occasions and events, including birthdays, holidays such as Christmas and Valentine's Day, bridal and baby showers, wedding receptions, housewarmings, and anniversaries. Towels are also ideal for college graduates preparing to move into their first apartment or home.

Although higher-end towels may cost a bit more than their lower-quality counterparts, you can find one or a set that will fit into any gift-giving budget. You can look for online deals throughout the year and stock up when you find a good one.

Towels made of quality fabrics and impeccable design are especially nice gifts for people who don't typically treat themselves to luxury items. These highly absorbent and long-lasting  towels will give the recipient an indulgent spa-like experience in the comfort of their own home.

Here are some luxury towel gift ideas to get you started:

1. Towel Set

A matching set of towels is perfect for someone just moving into a new home who needs all of the essential bathroom items. Choose a set featuring a bath and hand towels, as well as a washcloth or two. Go with a set in matching color, such as cream or blue. If you aren't sure of the recipient's home decor style, stick with a towel set in a neutral shade of white or grey.

You can take the present a step further by picking towels featuring a decorative embroidered design, such as flowers, cats, seashells, or anything else that reflects the recipient's interests. As a special treat, have the towels monogrammed with the person's initials or another phrase or saying, such as "his" and "hers."

2. Towel and Bathrobe Set

Pamper a friend or loved one with a coordinating towel and bathrobe set. Purchase a robe made of he same type or luxury fabric as the towel, and in a matching color, such as white or pink, if possible.

You can also have the robe personalized with the recipient's name or initials, or a title such as "bride" or "mommy," depending on the occasion. Round out the gift with a pair of high-quality terrycloth slippers, especially during the cold winter months.
