Baking Soda and Vinegar: In the Home and Garden

About Me

Baking Soda and Vinegar: In the Home and Garden

Like many of us, I like to keep a clean house. Cleaning my kitchen and bathroom sinks, counter tops and vanities once presented a challenge. How so? I refuse to use harsh chemicals, mainly because of my children's allergies and asthma. I also prefer an environmentally-friendly cleaning solution. I've found all this and more, by cleaning with a homemade paste I make from baking soda and vinegar. This all-natural cleaning solution removes most of my everyday stains and grime with ease. I just scour the surface with a scrubby-type sponge and it's a breeze. In addition to kitchen and bathroom surfaces, I use baking soda and vinegar cleaning paste on my parrot's cage. There are no harsh chemicals or fumes, so it's also perfect for cleaning the toddler's room. Try the same solution diluted with a bit of water to kill your garden weeds. You'll be amazed!

When Should You Ask For Emergency Roof Repair Assistance?

Emergency roof repair work is a common need, especially in regions that get lots of extreme weather. Knowing when to request 24/7 emergency roofing services is critical to protecting the investment you've put into your house. You should contact a 24/7 emergency roofing system service if you see or suspect any of these four problems.

Interior Leaks

Particularly if you see leaking through the ceiling on the building's top story, there's a good chance something is wrong with the roof. Even if you can't identify the source of the leak, you should ask an emergency roofing system repair contractor to check. Small leaks can be tough to find, but a contractor will know how to follow the trail back to its origin.

Notably, a leak could cause damage elsewhere in the house. Some leaks on the outside walls might track to the first story or even into the basement. If you can't identify another source, you should suspect the roof is the issue.

Tree Damage

If a damaged tree strikes the roof, you should assume the worst. Have someone from a 24/7 emergency roofing system repair company visit. They can safely get up on the roof, even after bad weather has passed through. The contractor will look around the affected area to see if there's any evidence of penetration. If there is a hole, they can use emergency roof tarping to secure it temporarily until they can bring more resources to fix the hole.

Missing or Damaged Roofing Materials

Any damage to the roofing materials is a bad sign. While modern roofing systems use layers of protection to reduce the risk that damage will trigger leaks, there's a non-zero chance in every case that something will happen. You should have a 24/7 emergency roof repair firm check the affected area as soon as possible. Even if they just need to put in some new shingles, it makes a difference.

Also, pay attention to more than just the main roofing surface. Flashing along the edges of the chimney and dormers is just as important to prevent leaks. The same goes for the soffit and fascia around the roof's edges. If you see any damage, speak with a contractor about emergency roof repair options.

Sagging

Damage could already be spreading underneath the roofing materials, too. If the roof is sagging, a contractor can place an emergency roofing system tarp over it to provide more protection. When the weather is right, they can then do more extensive repairs.
